Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the PickleIQ mobile application, the PickleIQ website at pickleiq.gleanimpact.org, shared lesson pages, and related services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are provided by Glean Impact (“PickleIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This policy does not govern third-party websites, app stores, or services that have their own privacy notices.

Information you choose to provide
- Support communications: your email address and the content of messages you send when you contact us.
- Training preferences: selections such as language, playing level, areas to improve, and preferred learning focus.
Information collected automatically
- App and website activity: app launches, page and screen views, clicks, taps, scrolling, searches when used, lesson views, video progress, quiz or onboarding actions, paddle views and comparisons, referral information, and feature interactions.
- Identifiers: a randomly generated PickleIQ viewer identifier, analytics device and session identifiers, mobile device identifiers, push-notification tokens, and advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
- Technical information: device type, operating system, browser, app version, language, screen characteristics, network and diagnostic information, and IP address.

- Advertising measurement events: app activation, completed onboarding, and content-view events used to understand whether a Meta advertising campaign resulted in app engagement.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide lessons, video playback, progress tracking, and other features;
- remember preferences and personalize recommendations;
- understand how people navigate and use the Services;
- diagnose problems, protect the Services, and improve performance;
- deliver requested notifications;
- measure and improve marketing and advertising campaigns;
- respond to questions, requests, and support messages; and
- comply with law and protect our users, rights, and property.
Service providers
We use companies that process information for us or provide their own services under their respective terms:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Amplitude | Product analytics, autocapture, and session replay |
| Meta | App-event measurement, attribution, and advertising analytics |
| Vercel | Website delivery and aggregated website analytics |
| Render and other infrastructure providers | API, hosting, storage, security, and service operation |
| Apple, Google, and notification delivery providers | App distribution, platform services, and push notifications |
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy policies.
Session replay
PickleIQ uses Amplitude Session Replay on the mobile app and website to understand how people navigate the Services and where the experience can be improved. A replay may reproduce interactions such as pages or screens visited, taps, clicks, scrolling, navigation, and technical errors. It is connected to an anonymous device or viewer identifier.
Session replay is not intended to collect passwords, payment information, private messages, or other sensitive information. We use masking and exclusion controls where available. Please do not send sensitive information through support or other fields unless it is necessary for your request.
Advertising and tracking
The mobile app uses Meta App Events to measure whether our ads lead to app installations and engagement. Meta may receive device information, identifiers, IP address, and events such as app activation, onboarding completion, or viewing content. Meta may combine this information with information it already holds as described in its own policies.
On Apple devices, access to the advertising identifier and tracking is subject to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency controls. You may allow or deny tracking when prompted and can change the permission later in iOS Settings. On Android, you can manage advertising privacy controls through your device’s settings.
We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on where you live, disclosure to an advertising provider for cross-context behavioral advertising or measurement may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “tracking” under applicable law.
How long we keep information
We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Services, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and provider settings.
- Raw Amplitude session replays are generally retained for 30 days unless a different retention period is configured.
- Meta may retain advertising event information for up to two years under its Business Tools Terms.
- Training activity, preferences, and anonymous identifiers may be retained while needed to provide personalization and understand long-term product usage.
- Support messages may be kept while needed to address your request and maintain appropriate business records.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can:
- turn push notifications off in your device settings;
- manage tracking and advertising permissions in iOS or Android settings;
- clear website cookies or local storage through your browser settings;
- use Meta’s Accounts Center and advertising preferences to manage activity information from advertising partners; and
- request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of information associated with you, subject to applicable exceptions.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, and appeal a decision about your request.
To make a request, email pickleiq@gleanimpact.org. Because PickleIQ does not require an account, include the anonymous viewer or device identifier shown in the app when available so we can locate the relevant information. We may need to verify your request.
Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
International transfers
PickleIQ and its providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on recognized legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no internet transmission, mobile application, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as PickleIQ evolves or laws change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
